CTV’s blockbuster lineup of the biggest award shows on television kicked it up a notch last night as music superstars Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson delivered a record-breaking broadcast of THE 48TH ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. Winning Sunday as the #1 program of the day with total viewers and the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos, THE ACM AWARDS were the most-watched ever in Canada with 1.6 million viewers. Live from Las Vegas, THE ACM AWARDS were up 87% from last year’s broadcast on CTV Two (841,000). Nearly 7 million viewers watched some part of the three-hour broadcast, which peaked at 9:09 p.m. with 2.2 million viewers with co-host Luke Bryan’s performance of “Crash My Party.”
Viewers can catch all the highlights from THE ACM AWARDS on ETALK, tonight at 7 p.m. ET on CTV, including L.A. correspondent Jessi Cruickshank’s red carpet interviews with music icon Shania Twain, country superstar Tim McGraw, Jewel and THE VOICE’s Cassidy Pope.
CTV’s stellar awards season lineup continues later this month with the highly anticipated presentation of the THE 2013 JUNO AWARDS, live from Regina’s Brandt Centre, on Sunday, April 21 on CTV, followed in May by THE BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS on (May 21), and in June with THE MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS (June 23).
