The Hunt is On: New Investigative Reality Thriller TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN Premieres Aug. 2 on CTV

Executive producers Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, THE AMAZING RACE), Bertram van Munster (THE AMAZING RACE) and Jonathan Littman (CSI, THE AMAZING RACE), inject summer with a thrilling dose of heart-stopping competition with their new series TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, premiering Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV(visitCTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). The six-episode, unscripted series takes reality television to a whole new level by pitting high-level investigative professionals vs. everyday people vying to win a $100,000 prize. This cat and mouse format includes all the elements of an edge-of-your-seat spy thriller by giving contestants one hour to hide a briefcase worth $100,000 before they’re taken into custody and put through rigorous interrogations by detectives. Will the players out-wit the detectives or will the investigators crack the case and locate the briefcase?

New episodes of TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN are also available on demand the day following their television broadcast on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca.

In each episode of TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN, a team of two ordinary people who have hidden a briefcase containing $100,000 are taken into custody by local police detectives and brought to investigative headquarters. Over the next 48 hours, the detectives will work with professional interrogators – Detective/best-selling author Paul Bishop and Deputy District Attorney/best-selling author Mary Hanlon Stone – to combine efforts and determine the location of the briefcase. All they’ll have to go on are cell phone records, any receipts, and the GPS coordinates from the players’ car. The rest will be learned from two days and nights of gruelling interrogations and extensive field work. If the two detectives are able to locate the briefcase within the 48 hours, they’ll get to keep the money. If not, the two players will keep the $100,000.

Detective/best-selling author Paul Bishop (www.bishsbeat.blogspot.com) is a high ranking detective specializing in Sex Crimes for a major metropolitan police department on the west coast, where he has twice been honoured as Detective of the Year. He has written numerous novels, as well as scripts for feature film and episodic television. Deputy District Attorney and best-selling author Mary Hanlon Stone (www.maryhanlonstone.com) attended the University of Michigan Law School, then moved to California to join the District Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in domestic violence and sexual assault prosecutions. Her novel, Invisible Girl, was inspired by the courage of the young girls she has met through her work.

In the series premiere (Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV), brothers Raul & Paul Bustamante are given one hour to hide the $100,000 briefcase in San Francisco. Once their time is up, they’re taken into custody by local police detectives Cliff Cook and Dean Taylor and brought to investigative headquarters. Will it be the brothers or the Detectives who TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN?

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN is produced by Profiles Television LLC and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, and distributed in the U.S. by Horizon Alternative Television. Executive producers are Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman, Elise Doganieri and Philip Morrow. KristieAnne Reed and Mark Dziak are co-executive producers.
