Toronto-based Proper Television announced today that production has begun on the new CBC Television series, REDEMPTION INC. Hosted by multimillionaire businessman and Dragons’ Den star Kevin O’Leary, the series will be filmed throughout the Greater Toronto Area until September 2011. REDEMPTION INC. (8 x 60’) is produced by Proper Television for CBC Television and will premiere in Winter 2012.
REDEMPTION INC. is an eight-part series in which a group of ex-offenders are given the opportunity of a lifetime – a chance to set up their own business under the guidance of Kevin O’Leary. He believes that criminals all have the skills to succeed; however, Kevin’s personal investment of $100,000 must be earned – this is not a handout or charity scheme, this is business.

Over one hundred ex-convicts from across the country applied to take part with only a handful receiving the chance to be on REDEMPTION INC. The series will be shot mainly in the Greater Toronto Area with stops in various other provinces as well.
REDEMPTION INC. is being produced by Proper Television, based on the original paper format from Wide Eyed Entertainment [UK]. The Canadian edition is the first incarnation of the series format. The project is executive produced by Cathie James. Kevin O’Leary acts as series host. Dean Palmer is the series producer. Wayne Moss and Michelle Metivier are the series directors.
