/A\ Breezes Through July with Hot New Episodes: Programming Highlights for July 1 – 25

/A\ continues serving-up a hot summer schedule in July with all-new episodes of RAISING THE BAR and WIFE SWAP. Also STARGATE UNIVERSE, CAPRICA, MAKE IT IR BREAK IT, and WHITE COLLAR are all new episodes for /A\ viewers. Big screen hits also take centre stage this month, including Foolproof, Independence Day, Daredevil, and Mystery Men.

On July 2nd, communications systems worldwide are sent into chaos by a strange atmospheric interference. The military learn that a number of enormous objects are on a collision course with Earth. Thought to be meteors, the objects are revealed as spacecraft, piloted by a mysterious alien species. After attempts to communicate with the aliens go nowhere, David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum, LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT) an ex-scientist turned cable technician, discovers that the aliens are going to attack major points around the globe in less than a day. Will Smith (Seven Pounds) also stars as Captain Steven Hiller.

There’s something very strange on board the Antares as nearly all the astronauts have racing heartbeats and elevated temperatures. Desperate to keep the project on track, Goss orders Claire (Maxim Roy) to attribute the symptoms to contaminated Halos, the crew’s removable libido inhibitors.

Blinded by toxic waste when he was a young boy, Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck, He’s Just Not That Into You) has gained enhancements in the remaining senses. With his father murdered, he sees this as a perfect opportunity to fight crime and help the citizens New York City. He becomes Daredevil, and every night risks his life to stop those escaping prison. One person who is still free is the biggest crime lord in New York, the Kingpin (Michael Clark Duncan, TWO AND A HALF MEN). Whilst working as a lawyer, Matt becomes the masked hero to track down the Kingpin before anyone else he loves is taken out. Jennifer Garner (Valentine’s Day) also stars as Elektra Natchios.

Entranced by a haunting song, the Antares crew is inexorably drawn to storage Pod 4 where the otherworldly Beta object revolves in an astonishing fractal dance. In Mission Control, Ajay (Zahf Paroo) and Arnel (William Vaughan) also see the strange object for the first time as Goss (Andrew Airlie) announces that they are now all sworn to secrecy about the real nature of the space mission.

In the film Paycheck, Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck, He’s Just Not That Into You) is hired by clients to take apart other companies technologies and find out how they work. He is hired to do a special job, against the advice of some of his associates but when the job is completed, his memory is erased. Now Jennings is hunted for something he has no recollection of doing and has only a little time to work it out. He has sent himself 19 seemingly unconnected objects, before his memory was wiped, to allow him to put the puzzle together and discover just what has gone on and what he has done. But the authorities are after him and time is very quickly running out. Uma Thurman (Motherhood) also stars as Rachel, a scientist who is a vital part of triggering what is left of Jennings memory.
