THE FOLLOWING Lures 1.7 Million Canadians on CTV and CTV Two

Hailed by critics as perhaps the best new network drama in years, the gripping psychological thriller THE FOLLOWING, starring Kevin Bacon, debuted last night at 9 p.m. with 1.7 million viewers on CTV and CTV Two, making it the most-watched program of the night. THE FOLLOWING also performed well in all metered markets, ranking as the #1 non-sports program in the timeslot with total viewers and A25-54. In Toronto alone, the premiere delivered an impressive 6.0 Rating with A25-54. During last night’s premiere, the Twitterverse was buzzing with more than 15,000 mentions of #TheFollowing, leading up to and during the hour-long broadcast. It started trending on Twitter less than half way into the episode and held strong in the #2 spot through the end of the hour.

Viewers who missed last night’s highly buzzed about (and debated) premiere can still do so. An encore of the episode airs Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. ET onSPACE and is currently available across CTV’s digital platforms on CTV.ca, theCTV App, CTV Mobile available on Bell Mobile TV, and through video on demand partners.

In next week’s new episode of THE FOLLOWING, entitled “Chapter Two” (Monday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), Agent Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore), and FBI Specialist Debra Parker (Annie Parisse), who is brought in to lead the investigation into Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) and his followers, dive deeper into the history of Carroll’s psyche. To do so, they enlist the help of Carroll’s ex-wife, and Hardy’s former love, Claire Matthews (Natalie Zea). Meanwhile, Emma (Valorie Curry), Jacob (Nico Tortorella) and Paul (Adan Canto) keep Claire’s son Joey (Kyle Catlett) at a house in the country as they prepare for their next move.

In addition to catching up on full episodes of THE FOLLOWING on CTV digital platforms, viewers can also watch the exclusive 20-minute online behind-the-scenes special INSIDE THE FOLLOWING, across CTV’s digital platforms onCTV.ca, the CTV App, CTV Mobile available on Bell Mobile TV, and through video on demand partners. The special features commentary from creator/executive producer Kevin Williamson, executive producer/director Marcos Siega, and cast members Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Natalie Zea, and Annie Parisse.
