Bravo! announced today the highly anticipated new reality competition WORK OF ART: THE NEXT GREAT ARTIST makes its Canadian television debut Saturday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Bravo! Canada. Executive produced by Sarah Jessica Parker (SEX AND THE CITY) and the producers behind TOP CHEF and PROJECT RUNWAY, the 10-episode reality series sees aspiring contemporary artists who compete to become the next Picasso or Warhol. (Encore presentation airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET and Sundays at 6 p.m. ET on Bravo!)

The winner of WORK OF ART: THE NEXT GREAT ARTIST earns a solo exhibit at the world-famous Brooklyn Museum and a cash prize of $100,000, provided by Prismacolor®. Art enthusiast China Chow hosts the series and also serves on the judging panel alongside art luminaries Bill Powers (New York Gallery owner and literary art contributor), Jerry Saltz (art critic for New York Magazine), and Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn (esteemed curator and owner of Salon94 gallery in NYC). World-renowned art auctioneer Simon de Pury adds his voice of experience – acting as a mentor to the contestants throughout the season.
Each week, contestants are faced with the challenge of creating unique pieces in a variety of mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, collage, and industrial design. The weekly assignments challenge the artists to push the limits of their technical skills and creative boundaries. Completed works of art are appraised by the panel of top art world figures alongside a new celebrated guest judge each week including appearances by Sarah Jessica Parker, renowned mix-media artist Jon Kessler, photographer Andres Serrano, and hyper-realistic painter Richard Phillips. Through a gallery showing at the end of each challenge, these industry select dictate which artists have successfully mastered the subject matter and creation of their piece, as well as whose concept leaves the greatest impact.
