CP24 Celebrates Ann Rohmer with Farewell Tribute June 22

CP24 delivers an on-air sendoff to Ann Rohmer on Tuesday, June 22 during CP24 BREAKFAST from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., offering viewers and fans of the veteran television broadcaster an opportunity to be part of her farewell celebration.

A familiar face in Toronto television, Rohmer ends a storied, 31-year career in broadcasting, including 25 years at 299 Queen Street West. As host and anchor of CP24 Breakfast, Hot Property, and Animal House Calls, Rohmer has spent thousands of hours on live television, guiding viewers through countless breaking news stories, and joining viewers at home at the start of each morning. Rohmer is set to soar as she embarks on a new career in the aviation industry, and will remain the special guest host of Animal House Calls and HOT PROPERTY on CP24.

“I am so thankful to have enjoyed a career in television for the last three decades, and I will dearly miss the viewers and colleagues who have made my work possible,” said Ann Rohmer. “I’m truly looking forward to exploring the next exciting chapter in my career, and I am humbled by the thoughtful and caring well wishes of everyone who has tuned in over the years.”

Ann Rohmer Day will feature a trip down memory lane with photos and footage of Rohmer over the years. Viewers can also expect surprise visits from VIPs, an interview with CHUM FM’s morning show Roger, Darren and Marilyn that will be simulcast on CP24 Breakfast, and non-stop messages and stories from fans and viewers. Viewers can participate in Ann Rohmer Day by sharing their own stories and favourite on-air moments by visiting www.cp24.com.

Rohmer’s career has seen significant milestones over the years. Rohmer was the CBC’s first female sports anchor and has interviewed hundreds of the world’s most fascinating people, from Prime Ministers to Presidents, to international superstars like Paul McCartney, Mel Gibson and Tina Turner, to Canadian icons Terry Fox and Rick Hansen.

CP24 is Toronto’s source for breaking news. Following the mantra “we’re always with you,” viewers can watch CP24 on television, listen on the radio, and follow along online at CP24.com. The station is owned by CTV Inc., a division of CTVglobemedia.
