Premiering June 24 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT on Discovery Science, THROUGH THE WORMHOLE delves into mysteries and controversial issues that have boggled mankind for centuries. Academy® Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman returns for a fourth season of THROUGH THE WORMHOLE, bringing together renowned physicists, cosmologists, and neuroscientists to explore some of science’s greatest questions. Each episode pushes the boundaries of conventional television by challenging viewers to consider new perspectives, while also satisfying the human craving to search for meaning and truth.

THROUGH THE WORMHOLE “Is There a God Particle?”
Monday, June 24 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT
Scientists have hunted for a particle to explain how matter came to exist in the universe. In 2012 they found it – the Higgs Boson, also known as “The God Particle”. But the discovery raises many questions. On the heels of the newest data released by physicists from the world-renowned CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research), THROUGH THE WORMHOLE takes a special look at the concept of a God particle. Physicists’ recent findings underscore the unpredictable nature of the particle, and although evidence of the Higgs Boson is not yet completely conclusive, scientific opinion continues to strongly favour the existence of The God Particle as predicted by Peter Higgs and others in 1964.
THROUGH THE WORMHOLE “When Does Life Begin?”
Monday July 1 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT
What defines the beginning of a life? It is a debate that has carried on for centuries. Ground-breaking evidence reveals that inside all of us are traces of cells from our relatives, blurring the lines between one life and another. Technology is now giving birth to new life forms made of surprising components – from droplets of oil in a Petri dish, to conscious robots and to a new global internet-connected life form comprised of all humanity.
THROUGH THE WORMHOLE “Can We Survive the Death of the Sun?”
Monday, July 8 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT
The sun holds a dark secret. Someday the giant star will bathe the Earth in fiery destruction. Could humanity survive the death of the sun? Technology enabling humans to move entire civilizations to Mars sounds like sci-fi, but it is almost within grasp. Furthermore, reaching a second Earth across the galaxy could be possible, thanks to a radical new propulsion technology derived from man-made black holes.
THROUGH THE WORMHOLE “How Do Aliens Think?”
Monday, July 15 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT
By studying the non-human life forms on earth, scientists are learning how alien minds might function. Biologists and computer scientists watch “dumb” ants form an intelligent super-organism; neuroscientists probe the mysterious brains of octopuses; and a team of researchers show that even plants behave in ways normally only associated with animals. Meanwhile, a linguist tries to imagine advanced alien language by recreating centuries of human language evolution.
