About San Diego Comic-Con
Comic-Con was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by Shel Dorf and a group of San Diegans. It is a four day event that takes place in the Summer. The convention originally showcased comic books, but has grown to include pop culture elements, such as horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, web comics and fantasy novels. It is the largest American convention, ranking fourth largest in the world with hundreds of thousands of fans in attendance every year.
