The next generation of NHL stars take to the ice this summer with the National Hockey League Players’ Association during the first annual Allstate All-Canadians Mentorship Camp. The invitation-only camp culminates with the ALLSTATE ALL-CANADIANS MENTORSHIP CUP, an inter-squad exhibition game coached by NHL players Luke Schenn and Jason Spezza, airing Saturday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. ET on TSN2.
Led by 21-year NHL veteran Gary Roberts, the Allstate All-Canadians Mentorship Camp runs from August 2 to 6 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. The camp partners NHL players with 42 of the best bantam-aged hockey players from across Canada. The up-and-comers will receive first-hand instruction – both on and off the ice – about important foundational topics such as nutrition, strength and fitness, sports psychology, financial responsibility and personal values.
The young hockey stars will get the ultimate experience with former NHL referee and TSN analyst Kerry Fraser refereeing the game while wearing a mic. TSN play-by-play commentator Steve Kouleas and analyst Mike Johnson will call the action from the broadcast booth, while SPORTSCENTRE’s Katherine Dolan will be on site in Mississauga to file reports.
In addition to TSN2’s broadcast of the MENTORSHIP CUP, SPORTSCENTRE and Canada’s #1 daily hockey magazine show THAT’S HOCKEY will have regular updates from the Allstate All-Canadians Mentorship Camp.
