Something wicked this way comes when Season 2 of the spellbinding drama SALEM premieres Sunday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET on Space. SALEM, a bold reimagining of the infamous 17th century witch trials, returns with the dawn of a witch war. Season 1 concluded with disease and devastation, unleashed by a deadly supernatural ritual, spread throughout the war-torn village. Now, Salem’s most powerful witch Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery, HUMAN TARGET), must face off against adversaries, old and new, who are vying for her throne. For those who are not yet spellbound by SALEM, the entire first season is now streaming on CraveTV™.
The debut season of SALEM was a Top 10 series for Space in 2013/14. As well, Space was the #1 entertainment specialty network in the series’ Sundays at 10 p.m. ET timeslot for A18-49. Viewers can revisit all 13 episodes of the bewitching first season with the SALEM CATCH-UP MARATHON, beginning at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday, April 5 on Space.
In the second season of SALEM, the ruthless Mary Sibley imbues horrific events upon the town by completing the Grand Rite – a ritual that unleashed a devastating plague on Salem. While Mary may be in control and on the throne, she is challenged by adversaries old and new, including her former love John Alden (Shane West, NIKITA). Left for dead, Alden returns to put an end to Mary’s reign before she destroys everything, and everyone, in Salem.
In the premiere episode, “Cry Havoc” (Sunday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET), as Salem suffers under a great plague – the result of the Grand Rite – Mary tries to secure her hold over Salem’s Witch and human population, while a willful Mercy Lewis (Elise Eberle, RIZZOLI & ISLES) enacts her own dark plans. Back in Boston, Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel, ARROW) faces questions about his failure in Salem.
Season 2 also brings new visitors to Salem, all with their own agenda, including Countess Marburg (Lucy Lawless, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS), the last of an ancient and powerful line of German witches; Baron Sebastian Marburg (Joe Doyle, RAW); and Dr. Samuel Wainwright (Stuart Townsend, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)
