Family Channel’s March Break Programming a Ratings Hit with More Than One Million Viewers

Astral Media’s Family Channel celebrated March Break with the blockbuster broadcasts of Disney’s StarStruck and Miley Says Goodbye? – a special episode of the Hannah Montana series – on Friday, March 19. Miley Says Goodbye? and StarStruck each achieved more than one million viewers and were the number one and number two shows for the day in Family’s primary demographic of Kids 8-14(2),

The Disney Channel Original Movie StarStruck, starring Sterling Knight, Danielle Campbell and Brandon Mychal Smith, and the season 2 finale of Hannah Montana, Miley Says Goodbye?, were part of Family’s week-long March Break programming lineup, Superstar Spring, that included marathons of Disney Channel and Canadian original series, crossover episodes and a sneak peek of the new Canadian original series, Wingin’ It.

“We’re thrilled with the success of Miley Says Goodbye? and StarStruck on Family Channel,” said Kevin Wright, Senior Vice President Programming, Family Channel and Playhouse Disney. “March Break is an exciting time for Canadian kids and their families so Family Channel set up a can’t-miss week of event television, premieres and viewer favourites to help celebrate.”

Family Channel is a premium, commercial-free network offering the best in family television entertainment in 6 million homes across Canada.
