Lifetime®’s Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition Makes Moves Online and On-Air

Lifetime® gets Canadian viewers jazzed up when a new season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition debuts on Tuesday, September 3 at 10pm ET/7pm PT. Starring reality TV icon Abby Lee Miller (Dance Moms), the snazzy dance series features 11 gifted dancers – and their spirited moms – vying to be crowned winner of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. To complement the new season of Lifetime’s fan-favourite hit, the network today announced that it is giving viewers the exciting opportunity to tour Abby’s studio with its “Abby’s Ultimate #StrutYourStuff Contest.”

Beginning today through October 6, Canadians are encouraged to shuffle on over to facebook.com/lifetimetvca where they can upload their best dance move for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Pittsburgh to take a private tour of Abby’s studio. From pop, lock and hip hop to leaps and pirouettes, all moves are welcome and the top 10 videos with the most votes will become Abby’s Ultimate #StrutYourStuff Contest finalists, each winning a New Balance prize pack worth $200.  Dance moves will be judged on choreography, creativity and showmanship, and select videos will be featured during Tuesday night airings of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition on Lifetime Canada.

Headlined by Miller, the second season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition introduces a new group of talented young dancers competing for a $100,000 cash prize and a scholarship to the Young Dancers Program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Joining Miller at the judges table this season are celebrity choreographer Richard “Richy” Jackson (Lady Gaga’sMarry the Night) and Broadway star Rachelle Rak (Fosse, Cats and Catch Me If You Can). With new contestants, new moms and unexpected twists, the competition heats up and tensions run high among a group of intensely competitive parents who hope their child has what it takes to win Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. The series is hosted by Kevin Mano (MTV’s The Seven).

New this season, the judges will be able to use a special “Call-back Card” to save one dancer from elimination, which is sure to divide the panel and create conflict among the mothers. Maddie, star of Lifetime’s number one reality series* Dance Moms, is set to make special appearances throughout the season’s run. Episodes of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition follow new episodes of Dance Moms at 9pm ET/6pm PT beginning September 3.
