TLN Announces New English Language TV Lineup

 TLN Television, Canada’s leading multilingual specialty TV network, announced highlights of its English language shows for the coming 2013-14 TV season, a year which marks TLN’s 30th anniversary.

The lineup features a cross-cultural collection of films, lifestyle shows and specials that radiate a passion for “Living life with Latin Gusto!”

Films:

  • TLN’s “Mucho Movies” continues nightly at 11pm with weekend double features starting at 9pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. All-time favorite films and stars includeLeonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You CanJulia Roberts and Brad Pitt in The Mexican, and blockbusters The Italian JobIndependence DayMaster and CommanderMrs. Doubtfire and Ice Age with Ray Romano and John Leguizamo.

Series – Drama, Comedy and Lifestyle

  •          CSI Miami, Continuing Drama SeriesDavid Caruso keeps his cool behind his trademark shades leading a group of forensic crime investigators in the tropical surroundings of Miami.
  •          Everybody Loves Raymond, Comedy SeriesEverybody’s favourite Italian American dysfunctional but loving family returns to TLN.
  •          Nigellissima, New Lifestyle SeriesNigella Lawson lived and worked in Florence and studied Italian at Oxford University.  In her new series, the “Kitchen Goddess” shows how easy it can be to bring the spirit and taste of Italy into your home kitchen. 
  •          David Rocco’s Dolce India, New Lifestyle SeriesCanada’s globetrotting bon vivant David Rocco expands his horizons in a brand new series presenting a culinary cultural exchange on a whole new continent.
  •          When Patrick Met Kylie: An Italian Food Love Affair, New Lifestyle Series: A food and travel series with a romantic Dolce Vita twist.  Kylie Flavell, a free spirited Aussie girl living in Rome, connects with a handsome young lawyer in England on the internet over their shared passion for Italian cookery and lures him to go on a whirlwind romp through Italy.
  •          Opening Italy, New TLN Original Lifestyle Series, showcases emerging local Toronto restauranteur-chefs Rob Rossi and Craig Harding making their marks on the Toronto restaurant scene and travelling to Italy to find “food inspiration”.
  •          Catherine’s Italian Kitchen & Catherine’s Roman Holiday, New Lifestyle SeriesIrish-Italian food expert Catherine Fulvio explores the food ethos of Italy in her own kitchen, then jets off to Rome to explore one of the world’s great gastronomical centres.
    •          Stefano’s Cooking Paradiso, New Lifestyle Series, features celebrated Australian-Italian chef and restaurateur Stefano de Pieri’s culinary adventures preparing sumptuous Italian dishes in spellbinding locations.
    •          Cooking with Nick Stellino, New Lifestyle Series: Wondering how to select the perfect piece of Provolone? Join Italian-American TV Foodie Nick Stellino as he guides viewers in creating restaurant quality meals.
    •          Simply Italian with Michela Chiappa, New Lifestyle Series, provides the basics of pasta-making with a twist.  Michela Chiappa is Welsh, but comes from a huge Italian family where she and her sisters have been making traditional Italian dishes and pasta since they were “bambinos”. 
    •          When in Rome, Returning TLN Original Microprogram Series, New Episodes: Live La Dolce Vita with TLN Rome-based correspondent Kylie Flavell and enjoy “vignettes” that provide insider tips on the Eternal City.
    •          Lidia’s Italy in America, Returning Lifestyle Series, New Episodes: Emmy Award Winning Host and North America’s queen of Italian cuisine, Lidia Bastianich, explores North America’s take on classic Italian dishes.
    •          Magnifica Italia, Returning Lifestyle Series, New Episodes:  Take an unprecedented journey through Italy and experience all the culture, nature and art Italy has to offer.
    •          My Fair Wedding, Returning Lifestyle Series, New Episodes: Every bride has a vision but David Tutera has revisions.  Brides know what they want their wedding day to look like and David steps in and helps them realize their dreams.

  •          2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil & UEFA Champions League:  The world’s most popular sporting events come to TLN, Canada’s multilingual broadcaster.
  •          Bon Jovi Inside Out, 90 Minute Special: features the band’s best performances from several epic sold out concerts at mega venues from around the world.
  •          Nigellissima Christmas Special, 60 Minute:  Nigella Lawson brings a festive passion for Italian cooking.
  •          I Love Lucy: A legacy of laughter from the comedy classic that set the standard for TV sitcoms.  Featuring all-time favourite episodes such as “Lucy’s Italian Movie” and “Visitor from Italy”.
