Here are the programming highlights for the month of April:

TREME

Sunday, April 11 at 10 p.m.
From David Simon (The Wire, Generation Kill) and Eric Overmyer (Law & Order, New Amsterdam), this 10-episode, one-hour drama series takes place during the rebuilding of post-Katrina New Orleans, and focuses on how a group of resilient musicians rebuild their lives through the enduring music and cultural traditions that make them, and the city, so unique. “Treme” refers to one of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhoods, an important center of African-American and Creole culture, especially music. Season 1 begins three months after Katrina, and culminates around the Carnival season. In addition to capturing the flavor and rich heritage of New Orleans, the series highlights the role of the city in the interconnected personal stories of musicians, teachers, restauranteurs, radio deejays, and community leaders. Starring John Goodman, Wendell Pierce, Clarke Peters, Khandi Alexander, Patricia Clarkson, Rob Brown and Kim Dickens.
YOU DON’T KNOW JACK

In 1990, Dr. Jack Kevorkian (aka “Dr. Death”) astonished the world as he took the end-of-life debate head-on with his “Mercy Machine” and performed his first assisted suicide. Starring Oscar® winner Al Pacino and directed by Oscar® winner Barry Levinson, You Don’t Know Jack follows Kevorkian as he builds his infamous Mercitron and starts a media frenzy with his epic legal battles defending a patient’s fight to die. Also stars Susan Sarandon, Danny Huston, Brenda Vaccaro, and John Goodman.
INSIDE HANA’S SUITCASE
(NETWORK PREMIERE; CANADIAN FILM)

Inside Hana’s Suitcase follows the true story of a Jewish family and a Japanese teacher who are connected by a wayward piece of luggage that belongs to one Hana Brady, a victim of the Holocaust. This Canadian film from Rhombus Media is a based on the book Hana’s Suitcase by Karen Levine.
HBO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING
