This April, W Network celebrates spring with the brand new series The Cupcake Girls. W also delivers blockbuster movies and Easter weekend programming featuring the premieres of the Oscar®-nominated film Juno, starring Ellen Page, Jennifer Garner, Michael Cera and Jason Bateman, the romantic thriller Angels Fall, adapted from Nora Roberts’ novel, starring Heather Locklear and Waitress, starring Keri Russell.
THE CUPCAKE GIRLS – SERIES PREMIERE
The Cupcake Girls is a cheeky, 13 episode real-life look at childhood best friends and business partners Heather White and Lori Joyce on their deliciously dramatic quest for “world cupcake domination”. But the cupcake business is no cake walk. If their lack of baking skills or business experience doesn’t stop them, their complicated personal lives will. Heather is a no nonsense business woman and recovering alcoholic turned Triathlete, while the more happy go lucky Lori pursues her never say die mission for motherhood at the fertility clinic. With six busy locations, an all-female staff of 57 and their parents for employees, it looks like the cards are stacked against them, but somehow they always manage. From spy missions to couples therapy, the cupcake business is never dull. Viewers can tune in to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Lori and Heather working their motto: “well-behaved women rarely make history”. Produced by Force Four Entertainment, in association with W Network, The Cupcake Girls will air every Sunday night with two episodes back-to-back beginning Sunday, April 4 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Viewers can check out the first episode of The Cupcake Girls in advance of the premiere on wnetwork.com/thecupcakegirls.
