THE PACIFIC

Executive produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, this epic ten-hour miniseries tracks the intertwined odysseys of three U.S. Marines – Robert Leckie, Eugene Sledge and John Basilone– across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theater during the Second World War. The miniseries follows these men and their fellow Marines from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day.

Devon Alexander takes on Juan Urango in a match-up in a 12-round Junior Welterweight bout, live from Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. HBO Boxing After Dark gives the most promising contenders their chance to battle it out in non-title, non-championship fight events.
PROM NIGHT IN MISSISSIPPI
(NETWORK PREMIERE; DOCUMENTARY)

This documentary chronicles the historic 2008 journey led by Oscar®-winning actor Morgan Freeman to hold an integrated prom at a Charleston, Mississippi high school where separate graduation dances were still held for black and white students, 54 years after the U.S. Supreme Court ordered an end to segregated public schools. An official selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, the documentary weaves together student-made videos, interviews and fly-on-the-wall moments with students, school officials, parents and Freeman himself.
EINSTEIN AND EDDINGTON
(WORLD PREMIERE; HBO ORIGINAL FILM)
Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m.
This HBO and BBC co-produced film follows the evolution of Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity and Einstein’s relationship with British scientist Sir Arthur Eddington, the first physicist to understand Einstein’s ideas. Starring Andy Serkis and David Tennant.
