RDS Extends NFL Broadcast Rights until the 2016 Season

RDS is proud to announce that it has extended its partnership with the National Football League (NFL) through the 2016 season.

RDS will continue broadcasting all NFL Sunday games, beginning at 1pm ET, and the ever-popular Monday Night Football. In addition, all playoff games, the Pro Bowl and the biggest sporting event of the year, the Super Bowl, will be broadcast on RDS.

“For more than 20 years, RDS has been a proud partner of the NFL. This announcement confirms yet again the trust that the world’s leading professional sports organizations have in RDS. With this new agreement, RDS and RDS2 will broadcast the most exciting regular season NFL matchups, all playoff games, as well as the Super Bowl, a signature sporting event in the world,” said Gerry Frappier, President and General Manager, RDS. “Once again this year, our team of seasoned French-language football experts will ensure that fans share the action front and centre.”

The 2013 NFL regular season kicks off on RDS on September 5. Fans will watch NFL games with the RDS football broadcast team: Denis Casavant, Pierre Vercheval, Matthieu Proulx, Mike Sutherland, Didier Orméjuste, Cédric Gagné-Marcoux, Matthieu Jolivet and Claude Mailhot.

On February 2, 2014, RDS will broadcast Super Bowl XLVIII live from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, home of both the Jets and the Giants.

Fans can rely on RDS INFOLE 5 À 7SPORTS 30 and SPORTS 30 LE MAGAZINE for up-to-the minute news and commentary throughout the season. In addition, an entire section of RDS.ca is devoted to NFL football, where visitors will find exclusive analysis and weekly columns by Pierre Vercheval and Mathieu Proulx, game highlights in the Zone Vidéo, as well as complete coverage of all NFL-related news. In Zone de match, fans have access to live results from every game.

From August 21 to 30, Didier Orméjuste will set the stage for this upcoming season with a series of NFL preview articles with analysis, stats, highlights and views on off-season personnel changes.
