Aye! Outlander’s April 5 mid-season premiere on Showcase took ratings to the Highlands drawing in 859,800 (2+)* confirmed viewers. Following a series hiatus, aptly deemed “Droughtlander”, the highly anticipated season opener “The Reckoning,” takes top spot as the #1 Season Premiere of the year across all Specialty channels (A25-54, W25-54, A18-49, W18-49)**.
Based on Diana Gabaldon’s popular novels, Outlander brings a fiercely loyal fan base to the television series and continues to broaden its audience through high production values, two talented leads made up of Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie), and sensational, multi-genre storylines that border fantasy, science and historical fiction, adventure, and romance. This Sunday, April 26 at 10pm ET, Outlander hits the halfway point with just four episodes left until the season one finale. In the episode entitled “Lallybroch”, Sam and Claire are reunited and embark on a new journey to Lallybroch – Jamie’s family home. Reality quickly sets in and old wounds are reopened between Jamie and his sister, Jenny. Showcase presents Outlander’s season one finale on Sunday, May 31 at 10pm ET.
