TV Gord’s What’s On for the week of April 26-May 2, 2015

Sunday

Brooklyn Nine-Nine – 8:30pm on Fox and City

After a six-week hiatus, this ensemble cop comedy headlined by Emmy winner Andy Samberg returns with the first of four new episodes to round out the second season.

Monday

Comedy Bang! Bang! – 10pm on Much

This sendup of talk shows enters its fourth season host Scott Aukerman facing a real-life talk show reality, when his sidekick, Reggie Watts, leaves midway through the season to take his seat as the sidekick and bandleader on The Late Late Show with James Corden (which began in March). Modern Family’s Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy) is the guest in the season premiere.

Childrens Hospital – 10:30 on MuchRob Corddry’s parody of hospital dramas is back for a 6th season.

Newsreaders – 10:45 on Much

This spinoff of Childrens Hospital returns for a 2nd season.

Tuesday

Chicago Fire – 10pm on NBC and Global

(see below)

Wednesday

Chicago Fire – 8pm on NBC (a repeat of Tuesday’s episode

Chicago P.D. – 9pm on NBC, 10pm on Global

Law & Order: SVU – 10pm om NBC and CTV

The second three-part crossover among these three shows brings Mariska Hagitay’s Sgt. Benson in direct contact with Firehouse 51 at Chicago Fire for the first time.

The Chicago Fire episode airs both on Tuesday at its regular time or again on Wednesday at 8, so viewers can watch all three shows in one block (on NBC, anyway). To add to any confusion there might be, while NBC is moving Chicago PD to 9pm for this crossover event, Global is leaving it at 10pm. That means on the Canadian channels, the second part will be on Global at the same time the third part (SVU) will be on CTV at the same time. The easiest thing to do is watch NBC, and let the simulcasting rules (where applicable) do the work for you.

The Casual Vacancy – 8 to 10pm on HBO Canada

This is a three-part hour-long miniseries based on J.K. Rowling’s novel. The first two parts are back-to-back on Wednesday, with the third part follows on Thursday at 8pm.

Friday

Shark Tank: Beyond The Tank – 9pm on ABC

This follow-up series airs after Shark Tank and follows the progress of a different winning company each week .
