The Basketball Jones Expands With New Content Line-Up

The Basketball Jones, Score Media Inc.’s (TSX: SCR) popular NBA brand, just got better with the addition of a weekly show on theScore television network, a revamped blog edited by former editor of Yahoo!’s Ball Don’t Lie, Trey Kerby, and a daily radio show on theScore Satellite Radio on SIRIUS 98.

Hosted by J.E. Skeets and Tas Melas along with producer/director Jason Doyle and producer/writer Matt Osten, The Basketball Jones (TBJ) joined theScore in March 2010 and has become the NBA fan’s leading source for entertaining commentary, unconventional interviews, and shamelessly fabricated on-court trash talk.

From its humble start in 2006 as a weekly NBA podcast recorded in Doyle’s kitchen, The Basketball Jones has grown into a cross-platform success, offering its rabid international audience an exciting alternative to the unvaried approach of mainstream sports media.

“Our goal was always to reach the largest amount of basketball fans possible and give them as much unique content as we could,” said host J.E. Skeets. “Our new line-up will help us accomplish that.”

The Basketball Jones blog launches October 4; The Basketball Jones television show premieres October 28 at 6 p.m. (ET).
More details?

* Why Trey?

Former creative director and editor of Yahoo!’s Ball Don’t Lie, the web’s most heavily trafficked basketball blog, Trey Kerby is a hilarious writer with a huge following. He is also a renowned chill bro.

* What’s new about the blog?

TBJ’s blog is now the NBA die-hard’s hub for the web’s best basketball commentary, analysis, and satire. The Basketball Jones will continue to produce its acclaimed videos daily while written content will be powered by:
Trey Kerby, Editor

Scott Carefoot, head of theScore’s blog federation and author of Raptorblog.com
Holly MacKenzie, contributor to NBA.com and SLAM Magazine

* TBJ on TV?

Sure. Why not?

Airing Thursday nights at 6 p.m. (ET), The Basketball Jones is a mix of in-depth analysis, the week’s most important stories, exciting highlights, hilarious sketches, and unmatched feats of stupidity.

* Radio too?

The half-hour, daily radio show airing at 3 p.m. (ET) on theScore Satellite Radio will give listeners their NBA entertainment fix.

On Fridays at 3 p.m., TBJ ends the week with The Overdose, an hour-long show where they interview NBA players, bloggers, and journalists and often step outside the boundaries of basketball to sound off on the latest news and pop culture.
