Rogers Sportsnet sets the table for UFC 123 from Detroit, Michigan with exclusive HD broadcasts of the preliminary fights on Saturday, November 20 at 9 p.m. (ET)/6 p.m. (PT) on the Sportsnet East and Ontario channels.
The preliminary fights will include welterweight Brian Foster’s first bout since his TKO of Forrest Petz at UFC Fight Night 22 which won “Knockout of the Night” honours. His opponent will be seventh season Ultimate Fighter contestant Matt Brown. As well, middleweight Aaron Simpson will be looking to bounce back from his first professional loss when he takes on Mark Munoz.
The main card is highlighted by a battle of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champions in Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Machida lost the Light Heavyweight crown in his last fight, a rematch with Mauricio Rua at UFC 113. Jackson had been the champ from May 2007 until his loss Forrest Griffin at UFC 86 in July of 2008.
Sportsnet Connected will also provide coverage leading up to UFC 123 with nightly reports hosted by “Showdown” Joe Ferraro from Detroit, during the evening and prime editions starting on Wednesday, November 17.
