TSN and TSN2 Deliver the Best in Canadian Hockey with Coverage of Five Major Tournaments

TSN continues its proud tradition as the official home of Hockey Canada with coverage of five major hockey tournaments – at home and abroad – over the next four weeks. Coverage begins this weekend and includes action from the following tournaments (see below for a complete broadcast schedule): • 2013 ALLAN CUP – April 20 on TSN
• 2013 IIHF UNDER-18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – April 23-28 on TSN
• 2013 ESSO CUP – April 27 on TSN2
• 2013 TELUS CUP – April 28 on TSN
• 2013 RBC CUP – May 19 on TSN

All Team Canada match-ups from the 2013 IIHF UNDER-18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and championship games from the 2013 ALLAN CUP, 2013 ESSO CUP, 2013 TELUS CUP, and 2013 RBC CUP are available on-demandon TSN.ca. 2013 IIHF UNDER-18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Canada’s future hockey stars go for gold at the 2013 IIHF UNDER-18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Sochi, Russia. Play-by-play commentator Dave Randorf and game analyst Craig Button are overseas in the broadcast booth, while host Nabil Karim and analyst Dave Reid are in the TSN Studio breaking down all the action. TSN’s broadcast schedule for the 2013 IIHF UNDER-18 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is as follows:
• Tuesday, April 23 – Canada vs. Sweden at 7 a.m. ET
• Thursday, April 25 – Quarter-final at 8 a.m. ET

2013 ALLAN CUP
The six best Senior Men’s AAA teams in the country hit the ice in Red Deer, AB for the 2013 ALLAN CUP – Canada’s national senior AAA men’s championship.Live coverage of the tournament’s Gold Medal Game airs on Saturday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN. TSN’s Ryan Rishaug handles the play-by-play duties for the championship game alongside former NHLer Jason Strudwick, who serves as analyst.

2013 ESSO CUP
Six of the country’s top women’s midget hockey teams head to Burnaby, BC to compete for the 2013 ESSO CUP – Canada’s national women’s midget hockey championship. Live coverage of the tournament’s Gold Medal Game airs on Saturday, April 27 at 9 p.m. ET on TSN2. TEAM 1040 Vancouver host Blake Price provides play-by-play alongside commentators Cheryl Pounder and Jennifer Botterill, both Olympic gold medallists and World Champions.

2013 TELUS CUP
The top men’s midget teams in the country face off in Sault Ste. Marie, ON for the 2013 TELUS CUP – Canada’s national men’s midget hockey championship.Live coverage of the Gold Medal Game airs on Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m. ET on TSN with play-by-play commentator Ryan Rishaug and analyst Stan Butler. Notable tournament alumni include Sidney Crosby, Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, Patrick Roy, and Dany Heatley.

2013 RBC CUP
The country’s best Junior A hockey teams battle for national supremacy as they face off in Summerside, P.E.I. in the 2013 RBC CUP – Canada’s national Junior A championship. Live coverage of the tournament’s Gold Medal Game airs on Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m. ET on TSN. Gaining a berth in the RBC CUP is an impressive feat, as only five of the more than 140 teams from 10 leagues across Canada earn the right to compete for the championship title. Coverage is led by TSN Scout and analyst Craig Button.
