This election, politicians are wooing “the senior vote” realizing that 70% of Canadians 65plus vote regularly in federal elections, more than any other demographic. Long before the election was called, CARP – Canada’s largest association for older Canadians with approximately 350,000 members nationwide – raised awareness for the issues of greatest importance to this population including financial security, pension and healthcare reform and caregivers’ rights. Now, these topics are making front page headlines.
On Wednesday, April 13, representatives from the major political parties will share and debate their positions on these issues in a CARP DEBATE that will influence Canadians – especially seniors – in their voting decisions. The debate will air on VisionTV Thursday, April 14 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT and Friday, April 15 at 4pm ET / 1pm PT.
