A handful of new and returning shows this week, but we’re in the TV doldrums when a number of shows are in reruns or absent altogether. They have to store up those final episodes of the season for the all-important May Sweeps! Happy viewing!
Sunday
Crowded – 9:30 on NBC – Series Premiere
Patrick Warburton, Carrie Preston, Miranda Cosgrove and Stacy Keach are among the cast of this sitcom about Mike and Martina, a couple looking forward to having the house to themselves after raising a family for 20 years. Then, their two grown daughters move back home. And then the fun begins!
Monday
Dancing with the Stars – 8 to 10pm – 22nd Season Premiere
Geraldo Rivera, (Donald Trump’s ex) Marla Maples, The OC’s Mischa Barton and CFL football legend (okay, NFL, too) Doug Flutie are among this season’s contestants. I’m curious (though not enough to tune in) to see if Kim Fields from The Facts of Life busts out her roller skates for a number! By the way, if you want to know who has a good shot at taking the mirror-ball trophy this time around, check out Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night. That’s when he announces where he placed his bet…and he’s been a pretty good “Nostra-dance-mous”, as he calls himself.
Childrens Hospital – 10:30pm on MUCH – 7th Season Premiere
Tuesday
Motive – 10pm on CTV – 4th Season Premiere
Heartbeat – 9pm on NBC (moving to Tuesdays at 8 starting the following night) – Series Premiere
Melissa George stars as Dr. Alex Panttierre, a rare female heart-transplant surgeon (a field dominated by men) who does things on her own terms. Dave Annable, DL Hughley and Jamie Kennedy are among the cast.
Thursday
The Catch – 10pm on ABC/CTV – Series Premiere
While Shonda Rhimes’ How To Get Away with Murder takes a break until next season, this Shonda Rhimes drama-thriller deals with private investigator Alice Vaughn (Melissa George), who is conned out of her fortune by her ex-fiance (Peter Krause), setting off a season-long cat and mouse game (while she deals with other cases, too).
