Getting the jump on an ABC mini-docuseries, A&E tries to solve mystery of what happened to the child pageant contestant, who was murdered in 1996. (The real mystery that needs to be solved is whether the channel considers this either Arts or Entertainment.)

Mistresses – 10pm on ABC/Wednesday at 10pm on CTV– Season Finale (Special Day)
ABC ends the summer series’ season with a one-two punch of episodes in its usual Monday time slot plus the finale on this special night. CTV’s airing is on Wednesday at 10pm.
Atlanta – 10pm on FX Canada – Series Premiere (2 episodes)
Donald Glover (Community) created and stars in this 10-episode comedy-drama about two cousins working in the Atlanta rap scene in hopes of improving the lives of those they love. Brian Tyree co-stars.
Wentworth – 10pm on APTN – 4th season Premiere
This Australian prison drama has already been renewed for a fifth season.
Thursday
Better Things – 10pm on FX Canada – Series Premiere
Star Pamela Adlon and Louis CK created this series about a divorced actress who is raising three daughters. It’s based on Adlon’s life. If you don’t know who she is, you probably haven’t watched Louis’ previous series, Lucky Louie and Louie, but if you’re old enough, you may have seen her when she was on The Facts of Life (as Pamela Segall).
