Cosmopolitan TV is full of big hair, spray tans and a healthy dose of attitude with the Canadian premiere of the successful U.S. reality series Jerseylicious on Wednesday, May 11 at 8 p.m. This one-hour series follows seven stylists in and out of a salon in New Jersey as they makeover customers, flaunt their distinct style, and gossip with customers.
Jerseylicious gives viewers a glimpse into the personal and professional lives of these Jersey stylists. The Gatsby Salon is located in Central New Jersey and run by the business savvy mother/daughter team of Gayle and Christy, who are under enormous pressure to grow the salon’s clientele. The drama at the salon is fuelled by Olivia, a young but bold makeup artist who’s trying to make it on her own, and Tracy, an overly confident hair stylist who loves battling with Olivia for attention – especially over the same man. Also working at the salon is Gigi, a young stylist who wants nothing more than a big Italian wedding – even though she’s not engaged and Alexa, one of the top bridal make-up artists in the tri-state area who proudly refers to herself as the “Glam Fairy”. Rounding out the group is stylist Anthony, the only male stylist, who got into the beauty business to meet girls. Now married with a growing family, he has joined the Gatsby Salon team while his own salon is under renovations.
Episode 1: Jersey Style Invasion premieres Wednesday, May 11 at 8 p.m. ET
After giving the Gatsby Salon a multi-million dollar renovation, mother/daughter team Gayle and Christie conduct interviews for new staff. After hiring a brand new team bursting with big personalities and ambitions, the Gatsby open house unveils the new interior as everyone learns how to work together and hold their tongues.
Episode 2: Pain is Beauty premieres Wednesday, May 18 at 8 p.m. ET
After being encouraged by Gayle to get to know each other, the stylists immediately begin clashing. Home life tensions affect both Olivia and Gigi’s job performances. Gigi and Alexa butt heads over love and marriage. Tracy and Olivia reignite their year old rivalry.
Episode 3: Jersey Video Vixen premieres Wednesday, May 25 at 8 p.m. ET
On the advice of best friend and publicist Denise, Gayle shoots a local commercial to raise the profile of the newly renovated salon.
Episode 4: Jersey Girl Brawl premieres Wednesday, June 1 at 8 p.m. ET
The Gatsby is entered into a statewide contest to find the best salon in New Jersey, and the workers try to keep to their best behavior while being judged.
Episode 5: I Don’t Wanna Lose My Nails premieres Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET
Gayle and Alexa hatch a plan to makeover their youngest, most inexperienced stylists in The Gatsby/Glam Fairy Image. Olivia and Tracy train at a New York City salon.
Episode 6: What Would Alexa Date? premieres Wednesday, June 15 at 8 p.m. ET
Olivia’s first Glam Fairy wedding gives her the opportunity to prove herself to Alexa. Olivia and Alexa also go on a double date.
Episode 7: Getting Sauced in Jersey premieres Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m. ET
Tracy and Olivia are tapped to organize an event at the salon to benefit the charity Locks of Love.
Episode 8: Cover Catastrophe premieres Wednesday, June 29 at 8 p.m. ET
The salon is a finalist to be featured on the cover of a local beauty magazine, with the winner being selected by how well a model is styled at the salon.
