MTV Launches New Flagship Daily Series MTV SHOWTOWN

New studio! New series! New hosts! MTV christens its new HD studio with the launch of the brand new, flagship seriesMTV SHOWTOWN, airing Monday–Thursday at 11 p.m. ET, beginning Feb. 5. The launch of the new daily comedy talk series leads a series of changes for MTV’s suite of original, in-house Canadian series. Produced from MTV’s new 299 Queen St. West studio in Toronto, MTV SHOWTOWN brings together an ensemble cast led by the latest addition to the MTV team, comedianGraham Chittenden. Additionally, returning with all-new episodes tonight is fan-favourite 1 GIRL 5 GAYS(Jan. 18). Host Aliya-Jasmine says goodbye to 1G5G as she passes her stack of 20 questions about life, love, and sex to new host, Lauren Collins. Best known as Paige Michalchuk on DEGRASSI, Collins takes the lead of the hit series Fridays at 11 p.m. ET starting Feb. 22. Fans can still catch Sovani on MTV NEWS and can look forward to seeing her hosting her own brand-new series currently in development, later this year.

The rejuvenated and reenergized weekly series MTV NEWS, debuts in its new timeslot Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. ET, beginning Feb. 5. This 30-minute magazine features MTV personalities Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and Sharlene Chiu along with contributing producers Brian Gasparek and Sam Sutherland, who scour the universe to deliver the most coveted interviews and the latest news on anything that that matters in music.

Matt Wells joins MTV as the new host of MOVIE NIGHT, now airing Thursdays at6:30 p.m. ET, just in time for the weekend. Movie buffs can still get their flicks fix with this popular weekly series, in which Wells and producer Rich Wilkinson hit the hottest red carpet premieres and sit down with the biggest movie stars. Wells injects his intimate pop culture knowledge to MOVIE NIGHT, bringing viewers the latest news on the most talked about movies.

Finally, MTV CREEPS is back for a second season on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 9:30 p.m. ET as the panel of three regular judges, or “Creepers,” scrutinize the lives of three social media addicts.

MTV SHOWTOWN

MTV SHOWTOWN is the latest and greatest daily flagship series from the hilarious minds at MTV. Each day, hosts Nicole Holness, Paul Lemieux, Sheena Snively, and comedian Graham Chittenden deliberate and kvetch about random hot topics of the day. Beyond the roundtable, the day’s topics are supported with a healthy dose of somewhat-related interviews, taped segments, streeters, and gazing into the Twitterverse for audience feedback.

CREEPS
(Thursday, Feb. 14 at 9:30 p.m. ET – Season 2 Premiere)Returning for its second season, this series takes creeping to a whole new level as the panel of three regular judges, or “Creepers,” including MTV SHOWTOWN’s own Nicole Holness, scrutinize the posts, pictures, comments, and ultimately the online lives of three social media addicts. Following their analysis, the judges confront the perpetrators!

1 GIRL 5 GAYS
(Fridays at 11 p.m. ET – New Episodes, New Host)
1 GIRL 5 GAYS brings together host Lauren Collins with a panel of five gay men for frank, funny discussions on a variety of topics. The alternating cast, chosen for their honesty, individuality, and confidence, never shy away from outrageous or taboo topics. On Jan. 18 and Jan. 25, 1G5G features two ‘at home’ specials where viewers get the chance to visit the childhood homes of several panelists. On Feb. 15 Aliya-Jasmine hosts her farewell episode, and on Feb. 22, she passes the torch to new host Lauren Collins. In her debut episode, Lauren interviews Aliya-Jasmine about the guys, and together they look back at some of Aliya-Jasmine’s most memorable moments.
