Impact: Inside the Protest was the second most watched non-sport program of the day for P12-34, 18-34, and A18-49 on all Canadian commercial & US specialty networks(2). Total audience for the MTV NEWS special was 176,000 P2+(1).
IMPACT: INSIDE THE PROTEST is the second installment of the MTV NEWS Presents IMPACT series – powerful newsworthy specials that address important issues relevant to the MTV audience. The series aims to spark discussion and debate amongst viewers. In this episode, MTV NEWS is embedded with activist Emily Hunter during the G20 protests in Toronto. Gritty frontline accounts of the destructive rampage of anarchists through Canada’s largest city and the intense showdown between riot police and protestors is interspersed with a spirited panel discussion recounting the events.

Emily Hunter is a second generation environmental activist. Her father, Bob Hunter, co-founded Greenpeace, led the first on-sea anti-whaling campaign and worked as an environmental journalist until his death in 2005.
