Last night MTV recorded its largest audience ever when THE HILLS series finale was watched by nearly half a million viewers (483,000). THE CITY and THE HILLS LIVE: A HOLLYWOOD ENDING AFTER SHOW also delivered series highs: Season 2 of THE CITY wrapped up with 365,000 fashionistas tuning in, while 299,000 viewers watched a special episode of the Canadian-produced hit series THE AFTER SHOW, hosted by Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank. In total, the four hour MTV finale extravaganza reached more than one million unique viewers from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight ET.
THE HILLS, THE CITY and THE AFTER SHOW owned airwaves, ranking respectively as the #1, #2, and #3 programs for the day for P12-34 viewers on Canadian and U.S. Commercial Specialty, as well as the #1, #2 and #3 programs for A18-34 on Canadian and U.S. Non-Sports Specialty. Additionally, THE HILLS LIVE: A HOLLYWOOD ENDING AFTER SHOW won its timeslot for A18-34 not only on Canadian and U.S. Specialty channels, but on all Canadian conventional networks as well.
An encore presentation of the finale festivities airs tonight beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET on MTV: THE HILLS series finale (9:30 p.m. ET/PT), THE CITY season finale (10 p.m. ET/PT) and THE HILLS LIVE: A HOLLYWOOD ENDING AFTER SHOW (10:30 p.m. ET/PT).
