September usually marks the end of summer and the beginning of the new TV season, however this year due to the ongoing pandemic the fall launch has been turned on its head. TV series production has yet to fully ramp up again which has resulted in networks and specialty channels filling the gap by airing non-scripted shows or acquired scripted content. As such, the first 2 weeks of September see the premiere of 6 new series, the return of American Ninja Warrior and the launch of several new reality / competition series. New series premiering in the next two weeks are Netflix originals Away & The Duchess, HBO Max’s Raised by Wolves, Starz’s new spin-off series Power Book II: Ghost and the broadcast premiere of streaming series Trigonometry and Why Women Kill. In addition, The Boys and The Good Fight return with all-new seasons and Wynonna Earp & P-Valley conclude their current season.
Other highlights include the premiere of several new reality series including Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart & Vegas Chef Prizefight on Food Network and Forged in Fire: Beat The Judges, Lords of the Ocean & The Secret of Skywalker Ranch on History. In addition, new reality series Tough as Nails concludes its inaugural season, Food Network favourite Chopped returns with an all-new season and the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards air on Sunday August 30..
