Nick Jr.’s Oct. 17 premiere of “Dino Dan” – the live-action kids series produced by Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment – set a record for the US network as the most-watched debut with K2-5 (383,000) and total viewers (753,000) in its history.
“Dino Dan” was recently nominated for a 2010 Gemini Award in the Best Pre-School program category and as a 2010 Shaw Rocket Prize finalist.
An all-star cast of celebrity comedians share the screen with 18 true-to-life, photo-real dinosaurs in the live-action, CGI adventure series “DINO DAN” that stars Jason Spevack (Fever Pitch; Sunshine Cleaning) as Dan Henderson. Dan – nicknamed “Dino Dan” by his friends – is an ordinary 10-year-old boy with an extraordinary obsession: he eats, sleeps and breathes dinosaurs. In “Dino Dan,” you don’t need to imagine dinosaurs – because they are everywhere! But while Dan is an expert in all things dinosaurs, he also specializes in getting his motley crew of classmates and teachers pulled into his larger-than-life adventures.
