DEADBEAT Launches Exclusively on CraveTV, April 3

Following on the successful heels of CraveTVTM exclusives MANHATTAN (December) and BOSCH (February), CraveTV has confirmed launch plans for DEADBEAT, the next fully exclusive series only available in Canada on CraveTV. From the same studio that delivered MAD MEN and ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, the slacker comedy DEADBEAT Season 1 launches on April 3, followed by the Season 2 premiere on April 20 (i.e. 420 – International Smoke Out Day), day and date with Hulu in the U.S. Available only on CraveTV, DEADBEAT is the service’s first exclusive comedy series, and stars Brampton, Ont. native Tyler Labine (BREAKER HIGH, Rise of the Planet of the Apes).

In the half-hour comedy, Labine stars as deadbeat pothead and medium-for-hire Kevin “Pac” Pacalioglu. There is no request too strange for “Pac” who puts in the least amount of effort to help even the most frivolous ghosts finish their unfinished business – as long as he makes a quick buck.

DEADBEAT also stars Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) as Roofie, Kevin’s drug dealer and only friend, and Cat Deeley (SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE) as the commercially successful medium Camomile White.
“CraveTV’s originals MANHATTAN and BOSCH are already enjoying significant success, and comedy is one of the most popular collections in the CraveTV catalogue,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, and CraveTV. “As a result, we think viewers will love DEADBEAT, and Tyler Labine’s disarmingly funny portrayal of a slacker medium.”

DEADBEAT Season 1 – 10 Episodes Available April 3
Kevin Pacalioglu may have no money and no clue, but he can see dead people. A slacker who sees ghosts, “Pac” struggles to make rent with his freelance business. From hot dog-eating contests to dangerous encounters with the Swedish Mafia, Kevin manages to solve the ghosts’ most bizarre problems. However, his biggest problem may be with his arch-nemesis, medium Camomile.

DEADBEAT Season 2 – 13 Episodes Available April 20
Pac is back and pot isn’t the only thing he’s high on, because love is in the air. When Pac falls for a ghost, Camomile steps in and takes advantage, blackmailing him to use his powers as a medium to help her business.

Season 2 features guest stars James Franco and Danny DeVito, along with Fred Armisen (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), Michael Ian Black (THE STATE, ED), Gilbert Gottfried (Aladdin), Jim Norton (LOUIE, INSIDE AMY SCHUMER), Zachary Levi (CHUCK), and Finn Wittrock (Unbroken).

DEADBEAT is produced by Lionsgate Television Inc. in association with Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Dakota Pictures.
