CraveTV Announces New Original Series Inspired by the Popular MIKE ON MUCH Podcast

Following the MIKE ON MUCH crew’s live podcast recording in front of a packed house at JFL42 at Toronto’s Second City this past weekend, featuring special guest Reggie Watts, CraveTV confirms today its latest original series, MUCH STUDIOS PRESENTS: MIKE ON MUCH. The eight-episode series is currently in production in Toronto and begins streaming on CraveTV later this year.

Based on the popular Much Studios podcast of the same name, MUCH STUDIOS PRESENTS: MIKE ON MUCH is hosted by seasoned writer, director, and producer Mike Veerman; Max Kerman, lead singer of the four-time JUNO Award-winning rock band Arkells; and YouTuber and “pop culture aficionado” Shane Cunningham.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Canada’s first interview series created specifically for streaming audiences,” said Tracey Pearce, President, Distribution and Pay, Bell Media. “With Veerman’s relatable and compelling interviews, and the infectious camaraderie of the three hosts, MUCH STUDIOS PRESENTS: MIKE ON MUCH is the perfect addition to our growing collection of CraveTV Originals.”

Following a similar format to the podcast, each episode opens with a roundtable-style talk where long-time friends Veerman, Kerman, and Cunningham share stories from their professional and personal lives and deliver fresh perspectives on music, pop culture, and entertainment. A long-form interview segment anchors each episode, where musicians, comedians, authors, and actors chat with Veerman about their individual creative process. Cunningham caps off each installment with a Digital Dessert segment, a short-form comedic interviewn each Digital Dessert, Cunningham explores areas of conversation typically overlooked by most interviewers, with dead-pan wit and off-the-cuff humour.

THE MIKE ON MUCH PODCAST, created in 2015, has featured interviews with celebrities and leading entertainment industry creatives including Noel Gallagher (Oasis), Lena Waithe (THE CHI), singer Camila Cabello, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Bobby Cannavale (VINYL), and director Michelle MacLaren (GAME OF THRONES, BREAKING BAD, THE DEUCE), across more than 100 episodes.
