Issa Rae stars in and co-created (with Larry Wilmore) this comedy about black women struggling to find their place in a world that judges them on more than one level.

Daisy Channing is a young reporter trying to balance personal life with her career while following a murder that she witnessed, tying her to a criminal underworld that she had no idea existed. American Housewife – 8:30 on ABC (Saturday at 8:30 on CTV) – Series Premiere

Katy Mixon (Molly’s sister on Mike & Molly) and Diedrich Bader (Oswald on The Drew Carey Show) star in this sitcom about a family that moves to a wealthy community to get a special-needs child into the best school. It’s not getting the best reviews, but I’m holding out hope that it has heart that the reviewers aren’t seeing.

Fresh Off The Boat – 9pm on ABC – 3rd Season Premiere

Kim’s Convenience – 9pm on CBC – Series Premiere (2 episodes)

Postponed from last week, this sitcom featuring a Korean-Canadian family running a convenience store in Toronto doubles up with two half-hour episodes.
