MuchMusic VJ Devon Soltendieck takes fans in Whistler on one heck of a ride as he hosts Whistler Live!, an unprecedented festival where the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games come to life with a stellar fusion of sport and entertainment. From February 12 to 28, Soltendieck hosts the 17-day festival that sees Whistler’s wintery pedestrian village pulsating from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. PT. A diverse range of free and unique Whistler Live! experiences deliver fans a dazzling taste of Whistler’s iconic mountain culture.
As the face of Whistler Live!, Soltendieck catches up with the athletes while recapping their races and competitions, and interviews national and international artists on their way to the performance stage. His interviews and up-to-the-minute news updates will be broadcast across 14 screens throughout Whistler Village before, after, and between live Olympic Games broadcasts and performances.
Fans in Whistler can get in on the action by heading to Soltendieck’s home base, the Village Common at the Whistler Live! production studio, and be part of the live audience. Whistler Live! is open to the public, making it an all access pass as Soltendieck interviews top Canadian and international artists in town for the Games, including Barenaked Ladies, Bedouin Soundclash, Elliott Brood, Hawksley Workman, Jully Black, Kid Koala, Matisyahu, Sam Roberts Band, and Wintersleep.
Whistler Live! is produced in partnership with the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the Government of Canada, the Whistler Arts Council, and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC).
